Introduction

All the world is one’s stage is an Esplanade commission, produced by Toy Factory Productions, the heart of Huayi – Chinese Festival of Arts 2021.

The stage raises its curtains to the illustrious careers, life stories, and heartfelt moments of four well-known Singaporean veteran actors who effortlessly exude the values of love, respect, passion and dedication across the years.

The creative vessel that sets off to explore the universe of life is helmed by director Goh Boon Teck along side with co-directors, Alvin Chiam and Ric Liu; playwrights Ellison Tan Yuyang, Goh Seok Ai, Chan Wai Kit and Quek Yee Kiat navigate to weave the stories hidden in our starlights and galaxy. Featuring a stalwart cast of acclaimed actors Yong Ser Pin, Liow Shi Suen, Johnny Ng and Ong Teck Lian together with Timothy Wan, Neo Hai Bin, Jodi Chan and Liew Li Ting, pull us into a captivating performance of heartfelt life-stories.

On this infinite horizon of our stage, Lighting Designer Manuel Garrido leads with his illuminating narrative in tandem with Sound Designer Sandra Tay who strives to resonate the stage to life with her imaginative soundscapes. A visual feast for the audience, Costume Designer Anthony Tan, Hair Designer Ashley Lim, and Make-up Artists from The Makeup Room come hand-in-hand to portray affectionately the performers as beautiful souls on stage.
